![]() The plug is turning a nice brown color and the pipe has stopped blowing out oily stuff. I can dog it around as much as I want and it will pull out cleanly. Needle Jet-2nd position from the top (stock is 3rd position down) I have an FMF pipe and silencer so I went by their jetting recommendations and made the following changes: I was also getting alot of black runny stuff (spooge) coming out of the silencer and on my fender and swingarm. ![]() The thicker the diameter of the needle, the less fuel will. For example: the thinner the diameter of the needle, the more fuel will be drawn through the needle jet. The taper of the needle determines the amount of fuel. Stock is an S-1, the 300s come with an R-8, and there are a variety of others available for fine tuning for a given Jet Needle (aka Needle). The jet needle controls the fuel mixture in the mid range throttle position which is approximately 1/4 to 3/4 throttle opening. It would bog down off the bottom and after it cleaned out (when I really got on it) would run fine until I ran it slow for a while and then it was the same thing again. 43 Length from tip of needle to start of taper, 43 mm (need to verify) 73 Diameter of cylindrical portion of needle 2.73 mm The Needle Jet (aka nozzle) is also changeable.
